"Techy"

I get it. Some people are just not good at technology. It is not intuitive for them. Thankfully I am not one of those people. Don't get me wrong, I am no "techy" but I can hold my own when it comes to new products and navigating myself around.

However...

In the last couple of days I have encountered two separate boulders of technology. I went to open itunes the other day, and realized that they had completely changed the layout and organization of the program! What once was easy and simple is way more complicated than it needs to be! My frustrations were vindicated this morning when L openened her computer to create a new workout playlist and began grunting and huffing about the new itunes. Together we discovered some short cuts, but in the end, we still discussed writing a nasty letter to apple, as if they care.

Secondly, my "home" page on this blogging site lists blogs that I subscribe to and shows previews of their most recent posts. This past summer I subscribed to one on a whim and have regretted it ever since! I have spent too many hours getting frustrated and searching every menu and option to manage my subscriptions. No offense to the lady who is authoring said blog, but I am just not interested anymore!

So, I will use today's slice to beg for assistance from those more "techy" than I... how do I get rid of said subscription? Help...

  1. I don't know that I can help but I feel you pain. I hate when that happens. Did you check the widgets?

  2. Hmm.. I think it depends on the service they use that you signed up with. Like with WordPress, I think you actually have to login to manage from WordPress... not sure about Blogger!

  3. Is this on your blog or on a reader? On your blog, you can go into the design part where you 'change' things & there is a place that will be listing the blogs you follow. Delete the "ONE" from that list. On a reader, there is a place that you click on in Google Reader that lets you delight some certain blog. Let me know if you need to tell me more info!

  4. That's the thing about the tech world - it's always changing and sometimes you'd rather things be left the way they were, right? It's like the aisles at the grocery store; once you know where everything is, you want it to stay that way. I guess change keeps us on our toes.

  5. It is time consuming and things are always changing. Did you figure it out? I wonder if you have to go directly to the blog and unsubscribe. I think Linda has some good advice.

  6. I just finally figured it out! It was a lot of trial and error and some of your ideas lead me to the final solution... just don't ask me to remember how! :) Thanks all!
